Sea of dance - Project summary

Itinerant festival of art and social anthropology

Mare di danza - sea of dance - is a Sardinian and international public addressing project, confronting autochthonous and implanted cultures, traditional and contemporary societies, throughout the game of dance, music and other arts.

Art as intercultural dialogue, a proposal to enhance participation and social cohesion, between who is hosting and who is arriving with other sensitivities.

The hosts invited to this programme from abroad (artists, students, cultural operators), or as participating audience, or as foreigners at home (immigrants in Sardinia), as testimonies of a history changing practices, habits and production modes.

The program has been carried out in Sardinia from the 19 to the 26 september 2006 and has been involved the communities of Selargius, Quartu Sant'Elena, Siamanna, Siapiccia and Iglesias.
