Carovana S.M.I. Association presents the artistic event Dance in light from 15th to 25th September 2004 in the city of Alghero, as the first step of the itinerant international cooperation project “Il Viaggio – El Viatge – A Viagem”.
After years of collaboration in the frame of the international program DBM (Danse Bassin Méditerranéen), the associations Carovana SMI (Cagliari, Sardinia), L’animal a l’esquena (Celrà-Girona, Spain) and Danças na Cidade (Lisbon, Portugal), continue to promote international exchanges inviting 15 choreographers coming from the Mediterranean area to meet in Sardinia, Spain and Portugal, and to take part to the three steps of the artistic and cultural activities that will take place from the 15th September to the 31st October 2004.
Throughout the six weeks of “Il Viaggio”, all the participants will be invited to develop their own creative works and in parallel to take part to the research, exchange and debate activities planed in all the three places. The artists will be working with internationally known tutors and will meet other artists who are operating in the different places where the project will be taking place.
